One Double Gold Medal And Four Gold Medals For JOLO At 2016 NC Wine Competition

October 3, 2016 Pilot Mountain, NCJOLO Winery & Vineyards is pleased to announce that the 2016 North Carolina Wine Competition has awarded five medals to JOLO wines as listed below:

• Double Gold Medal: 2015 Happy Endings Dessert Style Wine ($20/171 cases produced)
• Gold Medal: 2015 JOLOTAGE ($29/273 cases produced)
• Gold Medal: 2015 Pilot Fog (N/A/148 cases produced)
• Gold Medal: 2015 Crimson Creek ($26/183 cases produced)
• Gold Medal: 2015 Golden Hallows ($25/367 cases produced)

About the 2016 NC Wine Competition This year's competition included 480 entries from 57 commercial wineries and 35 amateur wine producers. The judging panel consisted of 17 Sommeliers, Certified Wine Judges, Research Professionals, and Wine Industry representatives. The event was hosted by the NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services. “Dessert wines are one of the more complex processes of winemaking,” says JW Ray, Owner and Winemaker at JOLO Winery & Vineyards.  "We are especially proud of our 2015 Happy Endings Double Gold medal and the three additional gold medals we received.
